>> ABOUT 150 DOCTORS OFFICES WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS GEAR. >> IT’S WORLD BREASTFEEDING MONTH. AND SACRAMENTO’S ANNUAL CELEBRATION HAD SOME CHANGES BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC. THIS IS THE 21‘ST EVENT HOSTED BY WIC COMMUNITY RESOURCE PROJECT. WIC IS A PROGRAM TO SUPPORT WOME, INFANTS AND CHILDREN. BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC THEIR EVENT WAS A DRIVE THRU. BUT THE PURCHASE -- PURPOSE WAS THE SAME. TO TEACH FAMILIES ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF BREASTFEEDING AND PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR MOMS. STUDIES HAVE SHOWN BREASTFEEDING REDUCES THE RISK OF CHRONIC DISEASES INCLUDING ASTHMA , OBESITY, DIABETES AND LEUKEMIA. >> WITH ANYTHING THAT IS LEARNED, IT TAKES A PROCESS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO LEARN IT. WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT THOSE MOMS AND PROVIDE FOR THEM. NUTRITIOUS BENEFIT. LACTATION HEALTH. SUPPORT IN ANY WAY THEY NEED IT. >> STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THERE ARE MORE BENEFITS FOR MOM. THEY CAN RECOVER FASTER AND HAVE A LOWER

An annual event to celebrate world breastfeeding month in Sacramento took place Friday with some changes. The WIC Community Resource Project hosted a drive-thru event to teach families about the benefits of breastfeeding and provide resources for mothers.
