Contemporary Mexican restaurant opens in Sacramento's DOCO
There's a new colorful addition to Sacramento's growing DOCO area.
Mexican restaurant Polanco Cantina, located on the second level overlooking the Downtown Commons plaza, opened Tuesday.
The 5,850-square-foot restaurant is named after a ritzy, vibrant district in Mexico City, said General Manager Giovanni Joris.
Polanco Cantina serves elevated street food made with local ingredients, said executive chef Adam Carpenter. The menu is made up of dishes from all over Mexico that he said he aims to make authentic and approachable.
The restaurant also has a full-service bar and is going to launch a taco truck service.
Artist Senkoe, a native of Mexico, created a giant mural called “Nacimiento de las Flores” (“Birth of the Flowers”) for the restaurant.
