The Sacramento Police Department released a video of a man it described as a suspect in two sexual assault incidents that occurred Sunday evening near a city park.
At this time, the investigation remains active and investigators believe the two crimes were committed by the same man, police said.
The first incident was reported at approximately 6:34 p.m. in the area of Sutter's Landing Regional Park. Officers determined a woman was sexually assaulted just south of the American River, police said.
Less than an hour later, police received a report of a second attempted sexual assault of another woman along the bike trail where it crosses under Business 80, police said.
"The suspect was last seen fleeing westbound from the scene," read a news release from the Sacramento Police Department.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about these incidents to contact the dispatch center at 916-808-5471 or the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-HELP.
