GULSTA JOSEPH DEANGELO ADMITS HIS GUILT TO DOZENS OF RAPES AND MURDERS. >> THE MAN KNOWN AS THE EAST AREA RAPIST HAS PLED GUILTY TO THE CRIMES HE COMMITTED IN THE 1970’S AND 1980’S. GULSTAN: HE PLEADED GUILTY TO 13 MURDERS AND 13 CHARGES OF KIDNAPPING. THE CRIMES SPAN. ONE MURDER CHARGE IN TULARE COUNTY, NINE IN SACRAMENTO COUNTY, FOUR IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY AND PLEADED GUILTY TO FOUR MURDERS IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY. TWO MURDERS IN VENTURA COUNTY ALONG WITH 4 MURDERS IN ORANGE COUNTY. TODAY’S HEARING WAS HELD AT THE SACRAMENTO STATE BALLROOM, BIG ENOUGH FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING FOR DOZENS OF VICTIMS TO COME. HE IS 74 YEARS OLD AND WAS BROUGHT INTO COURT IN A WHEELCHA LOOKING PRETTY FRAGILE, BUT THAT IS ALL AN ACT ACCORDING T PROSECUTORS WE SPOKE TO. Joseph DeAngelo has admitted he is the Golden State Killer. If you’re from the Sacramento area, however, you likely know the confessed serial killer as the East Area Rapist. His sentencing hearing will begin Aug. 18 and will end later that week with him being sent to prison for the rest of his life.Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert wants to hear from people who lived through the terror of the East Area Rapist in the mid-1970s. She is asking people to share the following:How old were you at the time and in what general area of the county did you live? How did his crimes impact you and your family? How did you feel the day you heard DeAngelo was arrested?
