Sacramento police look for driver in deadly hit-and-run
Sacramento police are looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that happened early Wednesday morning.The crash was reported around 5:35 a.m. in the area of Fruitridge Road and Wallace Avenue, the Sacramento Police Department said. Police said a man appeared to be crossing Fruitridge Road when he was hit by a car. A passerby found the victim in the roadway but did not see the car involved in the crash, according to police. When officers arrived at the scene, they began life-saving measures."Despite their efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene," police said in a news release.Fruitridge Road was closed in both directions between Emerson Road and 79th Street due to the crash. The road has since reopened. Police said investigators are working with "extremely limited" information and have no suspect information.Anyone with information about the deadly hit-and-run crash is urged to call the Sacramento Police Department at 916-264-5471.
