HER RESTAURANT. VICK FOR 13 YEARS HER RESTAURANT HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BELOVED FIXTURES IN DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO ALONG BROADWAY, NOW DEALING WITH DISTRACTION. -- DISTRACTION. I’M VERY CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNITY, I NEVER THOUGHT THIS WOULD HAPPEN. VICK A RESTAURANT RECOVERING AFTER AN EARLY-MORNING FIRE. >> ALL OF THIS WAS ON FIRE. BUT, THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED. VICKI: SHE BELIEVES SHE IS FORTUNATE THE FIRE ONLY ENGULFED THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. >> THIS IS THE DOOR. VICK LUCKILY, THE INSIDE IS STILL INTACT. >> THE INSIDE IS GOOD. THE DOOR WAS FIRE RESISTANT. THAT IS WHAT ACTUALLY SAVED US, THANK GOD. VICKI: WHAT WORRIES ARE MOST, THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. EXPLAINING SURVEILLANCE VIDEO NEXT-DOOR’S SHOWS IT WAS INTENTIONALLY CAUSED. >> WE CHECKED THE VIDEO NEXT-DOOR UP UPON SHOT. IT SEEMS LIKE SOMEBODY CAME IN HERE, PUT THE FIRE AND LEFT. VICKI: SACRAMENTO CITY FIREFIGHTERS WERE ABLE TO MOUNT DOWN THE EARLY-MORNING FIRE WITHIN LESS THAN A MINUTE OF ARRIVING ON SCENE, PREVENTING FURTHER SPREAD. >> IF THERE IS SOMEONE THAT HAD A CRIMINAL INTENT, THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO TRY TO CAUSE AS MUCH DAMAGE AS POSSIBLE. Suspicious fire damages Sacramento restaurant
An early morning fire scorched a Sacramento Ethiopian restaurant, and investigators said there is evidence the fire was deliberately set. The fire at eatery Queen Sheba on Broadway was reported around 4:30 a.m., according to the Sacramento Fire Department. Flames burned the front of the building, and smoke damaged the inside. Firefighters were able to put out the fire about a minute after arriving at the scene. Get the full story in the video above.
