WANTED: Thieves target lockers on Sacramento State campus
Sacramento State police are searching for two men who stole credit cards from several lockers at a wellness center on campus.
Investigators said the men got into the lockers without breaking in. It’s likely the men watched the victims enter combination codes on the locks, waited until they went to work out and then took the credit cards.
The men took the cards to Arden Fair Mall and went on a shopping spree, police said.
"People need to safeguard their combination and be wary of their surroundings,” Sacramento State Police Chief Mark Iwasa said. “Hopefully, that will help people be a little more cautious when they're using that locker room."
Campus police said they do not believe the two thieves are students at Sac State.
Investigators released surveillance photos of the suspected thieves. The suspect vehicle is described as a white GMC Yukon with Colorado license plate DKL068.
Anyone with information about the thefts is urged to call the Sacramento State Police Department at 916-278-6000.
