Authorities are investigating what led up to a shooting Thursday night which sent three central Iowa deputies and one other person to the hospital.

Two Guthrie County deputies, along with a third person, suffered gunshot wounds.

It happened as the deputies and a Stuart police officer tried to serve an arrest warrant at an apartment complex around 10:40 p.m. That's when someone from inside an apartment started shooting, hitting two deputies. A person inside the apartment also suffered a gunshot wound.

All three went to the hospital for non-life threatening injurues. A third deputy went to the hospital for burn injuries, according to KCCI. He has since been released.

Law enforcement agencies from around the area responded and secured the scene and said there is no further threat to the public.

The names of everyone involved have not yet been released.

Authoriites will be looking at video footage from deputies' body cameras as part of their investigation.

After neogitating, someone in the apartment surrendered to authorities, but it's unclear if that person was among the injured.

Three Guthrie County deputies and one other person were shot Friday morning while trying to serve a warrant.

It happened just after 10:30 p.m. in Stuart, Iowa, which is about 40 miles west of Des Moines, according to Iowa DCI Special Agent Adam DeCamp. The city is split by Adair and Guthrie counties.

In a press conferece, following the shooting Friday, DeCamp said three Guthrie County deputies and a Stuart police officer went to serve a warrant at an apartment at 615 SW 7th street in Stuart. About three minutes later, the situation escalated with someone inside the apartment firing shots, hitting two deputies and an occupant in the apartment.

Law enforcement from multiple agencies responded and secured the scene.

After negotiation, a person inside the apartment surrendered to authorities.

Three deputies and one person from inside the apartment went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It's unclear if the person hurt inside the apartment is the same person who fired the shots.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deputies and officer involved. They say there are no further threats to the public.

Officials said deputies were wearing body cameras, but that footage has not yet been reviewed.

KCCI reports police responded to the same apartment complex Tuesday after a man reportedly broke into a teen's bedroom and sexually assaulted her. Police believe the incidents are undrelated.
