Two people were in their apartment in central Sioux Falls Thursday night, when gunshots came through their roof.

It happened on the 1000 block of North Dakota Avenue.

Sioux Falls Police say the woman in the apartment above said she was robbed earlier in the day by two men.

Then around 8:45 p.m. Thursday night the 48-year-old woman says another man showed up, offering her a shotgun for protection.

The woman says she didn’t want it, and the gun fell to the ground, discharging into the apartment below.

Police are still investigating and looking for the robbery suspects, who got away with cash.
