PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The Pierre School District is getting closer to retrofitting all of the district’s drinking water fountains with secondary filtration systems.

This comes after the City of Pierre issued of a Drinking Water Advisory last month because of high levels of manganese.

Superintendent Kelly Glodt says the District took immediate action.

The advisory cautions residents to avoid drinking city tap water unless filtered through a properly working secondary filtration system.
