Commercial air service will return to Pierre and Watertown next week.
SkyWest is launching its new United Express service between Pierre and Denver and Watertown and Denver on Wednesday, April 3.
The airline will offer 12 round-trip flights a week between the three cities.
The company that had the contract to provide essential air service prior to SkyWest, California Pacific Airlines, abruptly cancelled all of its flights after failing to pay many of its bills.
