First look inside The White Bear in Tunbridge Wells ahead of its grand opening

The Bar and Grill closed its doors in July before its refurbishment by Young's

'A warm welcome to The White Bear'

KentLive has had an exclusive look behind the scenes at The White Bear ahead of its grand opening.

The Tunbridge Wells pub, run by Young's, is officially opening its doors at 5pm this afternoon (August 23).

It will be a welcome addition to the lower High Street after the Bar and Grill closed its doors back in July.

Tunbridge Wells Bar and Grill opened in 2007, replacing Tootsie's burger restaurant which had been open for around two years.

Before that it had been The White Bear from at least 1985.

But today the pub will open its doors once again.

Speaking ahead of the grand opening, events manager, Annabel Fairclough said: "My vision is to bring back a good sense of good old fashioned British community spirit to the pub and to be the heart and soul of Tunbridge Wells and to invite people in.

Come on down, pop your head in and be a little nosey. Come and have a look at what we've done and come and see the transformation.

"We hope Tunbridge Wells loves it.

"We're so excited to be in Tunbridge Wells and we're proud to be in Tunbridge Wells."
