Canterbury FC player Mobolaji Dawodu delights fans in viral video after turning up late to FA Vase quarter final

Fans of Canterbury FC may have wondered how their side have managed to mount a superb cup run which has put them into the semi-finals of the FA Vase.

The secret of their success has appeared to have emerged - after the club posted a video of striker Mobolaji Dawodu performing La Bamba after showing up late for their quarter final tie.

The clip - which has gone viral on social media - sees the player perform the Los Lobos & Gipsy Kings hit just over an hour before the side beat Biggleswade 2-1.

Players are heard bursting out laughing as Dawodu takes his forfeit for his late arrival in good spirits, gyrating and singing with the aid of a broom.

The clip sparked a big reaction on social media.

Tony Martin tweeted: "I could watch this all day. The biggest thing I miss about playing is the dressing room. A good dressing room goes a long way."

Adam Simpson wrote: "Late? That was pre match? Love that the management kept it relaxed. Removes the pressure. Well done to all."

Canterbury are now the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, having knocked out Langney Wanderers, AFC Varndeanians, Saltdean United, Corinthian, Southall, Newport Pagnell, Leicester Nirvana and Biggleswade.

They will play Cray Valley in the semi-final over two legs over the weekends of March 16 and 23.
