'Unexplained' death at Canterbury care home investigated by police

Police are treating the death of a pensioner at a Canterbury care home as "unexplained".

Officers and paramedics were called to the The Chase in Ethelbert Road.

They found a man in his 70s dead and forensic officers were later called to the scene.

Emergency services attended shortly before 5.30pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman said the death was being treated as unexplained and inquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing.

The Chase is a 31-bed facility specialising in dementia care.
