Tears for Fears rock band announce Canterbury summer gig

Multi million selling rock band Tears for Fears have announced a special outdoor gig in Kent this summer.

The duo, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, who shot to fame in the 80s with massive hits including Everybody Wants to Rule The World, have announced that they will play the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury on Sunday, June 23.

To date, they have notched up sales of more than 30 million albums worldwide, including their gold-certified debut The Hurting quintuple-platinum BRIT award-winning Songs from the Big Chair and Seeds of Love. Artists from Kanye West to Drake and David Guetta have sampled their songs.

Their last collaboration together was Everybody Loves A Happy Ending in 2004 and more recently new original compositions have been I Love You But I’m Lost and Stay.

Now back with their first greatest hits album, Rule the World, spanning their career, with enduring classics Shout, Mad World and Woman In Chains to newer compositions.

They recently co-headlined a sold-out arena run in North America with Hall & Oates and delivered standout sets at British Summer Time in Hyde Park and Rock In Rio.

Following on from their indoor arena tour, the Canterbury date is one of a select few outdoor summer shows to be announced.

Tickets for the standing outdoor gig at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury, home of Kent County Cricket Club, on Sunday, June 23, go on sale at 9am on Friday, March 8.

Early bird tickets cost £32.50 plus a booking fee, with general admission tickets on the day costing £50. Golden circle tickets cost £60 plus a booking fee or £70 on the day.

Under 16s needs to be accompanied by an adult.
