Canterbury Food and Drink Festival 2018 over three days and launch of Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight

For foodies heading to Canterbury, September is a special time of treats, artisan produce and gastronomy.

The county’s largest celebration of food, drink and culture, the Canterbury Food and Drink Festival, comes to Dane John Gardens from Friday, September 21 to Sunday, September 23.

The ultimate showcase for the city’s culinary scene, this year promises to be the biggest yet.

At the festival, you’ll be able to savour the finest street food inspired from all around the world.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to buy local produce and crafts to take home. The festival bar will offer everything to quench your thirst from craft beer to wine and Pimms.

Set in Dane John Gardens, the festival is the perfect location for visitors to enjoy the delicious food and drink offerings from Kent.

As part of the festival, there is also an urban food tour, with the chance to join a workshop, taster session and foraging expedition.

Chairman of Canterbury City Council’s community committee, Cllr Neil Baker, said: ​​“The Canterbury Food and Drink Festival is one of the highlights of the year and rounds off the summer in spectacular style. “

The festival is free to enter on all three days, with live music and entertainment too, alongside the foodie treats and dozens of stalls.

Among the goodies on offer are Kentish Cobnuts from Potash Farm and the launch of the Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight – the Hop H’opening – which runs from Friday, September 21 to Sunday, October 7.
