1 dead, 1 injured after truck collides into good samaritans in Lancaster County Friday night
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said one person died, and a woman is recovering after a pick-up truck hit them near Highway 77 and West Hallam Road Friday evening. Investigators said around 7:45 p.m, Kenneth Lineweber, 74, of Beatrice hit the victims who were helping another person change a flat tire on the shoulder of Highway 77. Karen Meyer, 61, of rural Cortland is in critical condition. Vonnell Briggs, 42, of Lincoln was pronounced dead at the scene. Lancaster County deputies, along with Hallam Volunteer Fire Department, Cortland Rural Fire and Rescue and Lincoln Fire and Rescue all responded.An autopsy has been ordered by the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office as the investigation continues.
