A body has been found in the Benson Park Lagoon, officials confirm.Captain Marcia West spoke to the media shortly before 9:30 a.m. She said that someone called 911 around 8:20 a.m. and reported seeing "what appeared to be a body floating in the lagoon." Officers arriving at Benson Park found the body and called the Omaha Fire Department out to help retrieve it.West was not able to confirm the gender of the person or whether foul play was suspected in the death. She said first responders would remain on scene for as long as the investigation took. Part of Benson Park is taped off in the meantime.West said if anyone knows or saw anything suspicious at the park, they should call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP (7867).
