Federal regulators are already reviewing 2020 commercial hemp production plans from 15 of the nation's 50 states, according to data published by the United States Department of Agriculture.Nebraska is still "working with the Governor's office and the Attorney General on finalizing" its hemp plan, a spokesperson told KETV NewsWatch 7 Monday.Under state law, regulators in Nebraska's Department of Agriculture have until Dec. 31 to submit a plan to the USDA.While it works through regulatory frameworks already submitted, the USDA still expects submissions from Nebraska, along with 10 other states. Iowa was not listed by the USDA as having submitted a plan or currently drafting one for review.None of the submissions to the feds have been listed as approved.
