An administrative assistant at the Nebraska State Penitentiary is facing a felony charge for allegedly having unauthorized communication with a prisoner.
According to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, Audra Jensen, 36, was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol on Thursday.
“Maintaining appropriate interpersonal boundaries is a key component to the safety and security of our facilities,” said Director Scott R. Frakes. “Violation of those standards is taken very seriously and is not tolerated on any level.”
Specific details of the alleged communication Jensen had with the prison were not released.
Jensen has been employed by NDCS since 2012. She started as a corporal at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women in York. She then worked as an administrative assistant there. She took her current role at state penitentiary in 2016.
