JULIE: KETV NEWSWATCH 7’S MICHELLE BANDUR WATCHED POLICE LOOK FOR EVIDENCE ALL DAY. THIS IS NEAR 108TH AND L STREET. MICHELLE: BEST WESTERN PLUS COULD NOT TELL ME IF THE VICTIMS WERE GUESTS HERE AT THE HOTEL BUT IT DOES TELL ME THAT THEY ARE SADDENED. POLICE ARE NOT TELLING US MUCH EITHER ABOUT THIS DOUBLE HOMICIDE AND THEY ARE STILL INVESTIGATING. A TRAGIC HOTEL WAKE-UP CALL LEADS POLICE TO THIS BEST WESTERN PLUS JUST AFTER 7:30 THURSDAY. OFFICERS FOUND THE BODIES OF A MAN AND WOMAN IN THE SOUTHSIDE PARKING LOT. THEY ARE NOT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT A MOTIVE OR EVEN IF A KILLER IS ON THE LOOSE. >> WE ARE STILL COMBING THROUGH VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AND TALKING TO WITNESSES. MICHELLE: CRIME SCENE TECHS SEARCHED A ROOM. TECHS ALSO EXAMINED THIS BLACK SUV WITH TEXAS PLATES AND A TOW TRUCK DRIVER HAULED IT AWAY. IT ALSO HAULED AWAY A BROWN VEHICLE WITH DEALER PLATES. OFFICERS WERE LOOKING FOR A DARK SUV SOON AFTER THE SHOOTING. >> WE HAVE SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT ANOTHER VEHICLE. MICHELLE: POLICE HAVE CLEARED THE CRIME SCENE TAPE FROM THE HOTEL BUT HOMICIDE DETECTIVES ARE STILL ON THE SCENE INVESTIGATING. POLICE SAY THEY DO NEED YOUR HELP. Two people were killed Thursday morning in a shooting at an Omaha hotel. Around 7:30 a.m., police were called to a Best Western at 4706 s 108th Street. Officials told KETV that two people were pronounced dead after a shooting in the parking lot. Police said the victims were one adult male and one adult female. The Omaha Police Department identified the victims as Michael Harbour, 35, and Nicole Hatten, 36.Officers were looking for a dark blue SUV that fled the area. Crews later observed a vehicle matching that description towed from the parking lot, though it was not clear if that is the one being searched for. Best Western released this statement: “We are saddened by the loss of the two people and for their families.
