There are new picnic tables for more accessibility at some Bismarck parks.

There are 14 new tables at parks around the community. They have a shorter seating area on one side to allow a person in a wheelchair to sit at the table. The park district received about $12,000 in grants to install them.

“It's that inclusivity philosophy, accessibility is critical and it's something that we take serious and we know we have some areas that we can do better but we also feel that we do a pretty good job,” Executive Director Randy Bina said.

You can find the tables at Jaycee, Sons of Norway, Optimist, Lions, Pioneer, Kiwanis and Sertoma parks.
