A Bismarck man accused of stealing nearly $2,000 from the Tap In Tavern pleaded guilty and was sentenced Friday morning.

Fifty-four-year-old Terry Brendel was charged with theft and sentenced to 10 days in jail.

The affidavit says Brendel is accused of walking out of a Bismarck bar with a cash box belonging to the owner on February 28.

Documents say the cash box had approximately $1,700 from pull tabs inside.

Police say Brendel later returned to the bar without the cash box.

He was charged with theft, a class C felony.
