All that snow has to go somewhere, so we've got a word from the Bismarck city streets department.

As always, plow operators are working on the major arterials first. They ask that you park elsewhere while that's going on.

Don't pile your snow in the street. You could be fined up to $1,000 if you do.

If you have a hydrant near your house or business they ask that you adopt it, meaning clear around it so that if there is a fire they don't lose valuable time getting hoses hooked up.

Check the city website to find out when the plows will be in your area. Cars left on some downtown streets will be towed if they get in the way of snow clearing crews.
