The Bismarck woman accused of taking more than $35,000 from Jefferson Lines appeared in court on Tuesday morning.

Former Bis-Man Transit employee Shanda Miller appeared before a judge for her initial appearance Wednesday. Miller wasn’t given bond, on the condition she continues to appear for hearings, have regular contact with her attorney and abide by the terms of her probation from a previous conviction.

According to an affidavit, Miller is accused of taking $35,124.55 from Jefferson Lines between June 2018 and January 2019. She was working at Bis-Man Transit at the time, which handles the transactions for the bus line, and Miller would sign off on the receipts, count the money and keep it in her desk until deposits were made, according to court documents.
