Ducks Unlimited is working with property owners to turn 120 acres west of Divide Avenue and north of Burnt Boat Drive into a park.

It would include trails that connect with Bismarck and Mandan trail systems, along with prairie grassland, trees and wetlands.

Leaders say the eventual plan would be to turn it over to Bismarck Parks and Recreation.

"We've been working with the private owners of the property who have been incredibly generous they've lowered the price of the property, they've offered to donate a portion of it, but we still do need to raise a million dollars to acquire the land, so this really needs to be a community effort," said Carmen Miller, Director of Public Policy for Ducks Unlimited.

Ducks Unlimited will share its plan at its office on River Road on Monday from 5 to 7.
