A Fort Rice man is accused of pointing a pocket knife at victims in a Bismarck motel Sunday morning.

The affidavit says 67-year-old Steven Johnson is accused of pointing a knife at a group of men and then when police arrived refusing to put it down.

Documents say Bismarck Police officers ordered Johnson to drop the knife twice and he didn’t. The affidavit says an officer hit Johnson’s hand and the knife fell to the ground.

Officers handcuffed Johnson and say they took him to his motel room to try to talk to him but he was agitated.

Johnson is accused of yelling profanities at the officers and charging at them. Police say Johnson kicked an officer in the groin.

Johnson was arrested for terrorizing and assault on a police officer.

Court documents show he was charged with simple assault on a peace officer and reckless endangerment with extreme indifference.
