UPDATE 11/25/2019: Court documents show both of David Schneider’s charges were dismissed on Monday.

Your News Leader is waiting to hear back from his attorney. The Burleigh County State’s Attorney on the case wouldn’t comment on why charges were dismissed.

ORIGINAL STORY 10/23/2019: A judge set the bond for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at knife point.

Thirty-nine-year-old David Schneider is accused of going to the victim’s home in August and groping her in August.

The victim told police Schneider is a family friend, according to the affidavit.

Police say Schneider put a knife to the victim’s throat and told her to take off her clothes. The woman said she was scared and could smell beer in his breath, according to court documents.

Officers say the victim and Schneider struggled over the knife and she was able to grab it and run from him.

Schneider followed her and threatened to come back if she told anyone what happened and then left her home.

A judge set his bond to $5,000 unsecured, promise to appear, and no contact with the victim.

Schneider’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month.
