A homeless man in Bismarck is accused of breaking into several cars.

The Bismarck Police Department says they arrested 33-year-old Matthew Singleton on Sunday in connection to several car break-ins downtown.

BPD’s public information office Sgt. Tim Sass says a witness saw Singleton in the act.

Sass says Singleton was found with items like a metal cash box and checks.

Police say the suspect had several items that they could tie to three separate car break-ins.

Singelton is charged with three counts of unlawful entry into a vehicle and ingesting a controlled substance.
