Most people are familiar with Uber and Lyft. Soon, there will be another ride share service in North Dakota.

Joe Howard is launching Joe's Ride Logistics, a new transportation company, focusing on areas of the state with less available car-for-hire services.

Joe Howard knows the roads in North Dakota like the back of his hands.

He's using his expertise to fill what he says is a statewide need.

"I think there's a lot of people that's become dissatisfied with Uber and Lyft and are looking for something fresh and new and more local and more personal," said Howard.

Howard owned and operated Newtown Shuttle service for two years.

Now, he's switching gears and starting a new, statewide ride share service.

"We will be servicing the rural areas and focusing on expanding our services to the areas Uber and Lyft are starting to fail out at," said Howard.

People say there's more than enough room for another car service.

"I love Lyft and Uber and sometimes it's really hard to get a ride-- even from them. So, it can only help more to have another ride service," said Bismarck Resident Kesley Tveter.

Howard says his service complies with state requirements and his drivers will undergo the same background checks Lyft uses.

Howard is working on an app for his car service. For now, you can request a ride by calling the number listed on his website www.newtownshuttle.com.
