North Dakota counties taking on big pharma

Bismarck is among the cities and counties suing some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies marketing opioids.
It's seeking to recover money spent on opioid enforcement, and city commissioners say they also want a change in advertising practices.
Commissioner Guy: "You know, it's one of those things that your community has to face head-on, and we need to take a look into what we can do to fix the problem,” said Bismarck City Commissioner Nancy Guy. “And that's what we do in the Commission. We find solutions to problems.
Defendants include Purdue Pharma, Johnson & Johnson, and Wal-Mart Stores. The city has not disclosed the dollar amount it's seeking.
