How many coronavirus cases have been in your area? OHA releases updated ZIP code list

There were 289 new known cases last week, a 26% decrease from the week prior.

PORTLAND, Ore. — In its weekly coronavirus report released on Wednesday, the Oregon Health Authority provided updated numbers for cases in the state, organized by ZIP code.

The report showed COVID-19 cases declined again last week even as testing continues to increase. There were 289 new known cases reported during the week of May 18-24, a 26% decrease from the week prior. Meanwhile, the number of tests completed last week rose to 17,214, a 5% increase compared to the week before. Overall, the percentage of positive tests dropped to its lowest mark, 1.7%, during the pandemic.

Because there were lower number of positive tests throughout the state, there weren’t explosive spikes in any ZIP codes over last week. Some areas did see some uptick, though, comparative to their prior case count. That includes the Redmond area and Deschutes County, where officials attribute the increase to larger family or social gatherings. Here’s a look at some of those areas:

  • 97062 (Tualatin area): Went from 24 to 31 cases last week. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 8.7 to 11.3.
  • 97080 (Multnomah County including parts of Gresham): Went from 66 to 78 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 16.1 to 19.1.
  • 97116 (Washington County including Forest Grove): Went from 67 to 81 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 27.8 to 33.6.
  • 97124 (Washington County including parts of Hillsboro and areas north): Went from 46 to 53 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 9.5 to 11.
  • 97305 (Marion County, northeast of Salem): Went from 80 to 90 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 19.9 to 22.4.
  • 97702 (Deschutes County): Went from 25 to 35 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 6.2 to 8.6.
  • 97756 (Redmond area): Went from 18 to 27 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 5.4 to 8.0.
  • 97838 (Hermiston area): Went from 49 to 66 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased from 19.3 to 26.
  • 97914 (Malheur County): Went from 15 to 23 cases. Rate of cases per 10,000 people increased 7.8 to 12.

  • 97071 (Woodburn area): 202
  • 97236 (Multnomah County, Centennial neighborhood and to the south): 183
  • 97123 (Washington County area south of Hillsboro): 102
  • 97305 (Marion County area northeast of Salem): 90
  • 97301 (Salem area): 89
  • 97233 (Multnomah County including parts of Southeast Portland): 87
  • 97030 (Gresham area): 85
  • 97303 (Marion County, including Keizer and areas to the northwest): 82
  • 97116 (Washington County area including Forest Grove): 81

The OHA has said its releasing ZIP code information to help people better understand the extent of community spread of COVID-19.
