Crash closes northbound I-5 between Salem and Albany

PORTLAND, Ore. — The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed between Salem and Albany following a crash Wednesday night.

Oregon State Police tweeted a photo at 8:20 p.m. showing what appears to be two semi-trucks on their sides off the side of the freeway. One driver was hurt, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. OSP said the crash involved flammables and the closure is expected to last a few hours.

The crash is at milepost 242, about eight miles north of Albany. ODOT said a detour is in place. Northbound traffic is being detoured using onto Highway 164 at the Jefferson exit.

No other details about the crash have been released.
