Cheyenne City Council met again tonight with highly-debated items on the agenda.

One ordinance which passed on third reading involved graffiti in downtown Cheyenne. It gives the DDA a leadership role in working with the police department.

Under certain circumstances, this allows for the graffiti to be removed from downtown buildings.

Another item on the agenda which brought a flood of public comments is a proposal which would place Wyoming Downs in the old Jackson's restaurant and bar off of Powderhouse.

According to officials, in the last year, there have been more than one hundred police calls regarding their existing location across town. Wyoming Downs countered that altercations didn't occur inside the building, but rather they happened outside. Representatives add that they are working with the police to mitigate problems.

Several residents responded that it doesn't matter whether a crime took place in the establishment or in the parking lot. To them, it's still a concern.

This item is being postponed for two weeks.
