The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board called an emergency meeting to discuss the Carey Building and their attempt to salvage some of the inside of the building.

Original doors and hinges, fireplace faces, and some of the original windows are all being considered as potential items to have removed for restoration. The hope is to keep some of the history alive even when the building is no longer around.

Stephanie Lowe, a planner with the Planning and Development Department and Staff with the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board said, “We don’t want to delay the process by any means, we’re just trying to fight for the building and speak for it because no one else is able to.”
