It may be freezing and quite windy outside, but that didn't stop people from braving the weather to attend a special groundbreaking event.

Laramie County School District #1 invited the community to attend a groundbreaking celebration for the construction of Carey Junior High.

The current building is being replaced, but changing locations. It will be located by East High School. According to officials, the design of the new school will be more conductive to mid-level learning.

The idea for the new building arose in 2005, so the project has been in the works for quite some time. The building is scheduled to be complete August of 2020.
