The annual Cheyenne Christmas Parade kicks off this Saturday starting at 5:30 pm. This event is a long-standing tradition that benefits our community.

The Cheyenne Christmas Parade started in 1990 and was founded by a family. They traveled all over the nation and discovered that Cheyenne didn't have a parade.

In the beginning, the parade was all family based, with a small committee, but it grew over the years.

In addition to being a fun tradition, according to the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, this event helps our local economy. When people come to the parade, they often spend the whole day downtown, shopping locally, eating in our restaurants, and even using our hotels.

The parade will start at 17th Street and Carey Avenue. It will end on Pioneer Avenue with Santa heading to the Depot Plaza for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
