Specialty teas, homemade scones, sandwiches, kid-friendly treats, and a priceless Waikiki view are all reasons that the Veranda at the Moana Surfrider was named Honolulu Magazine’s “Best Afternoon Tea.”

Nicknamed the “First Lady of Waikiki,” the afternoon tea on a shaded beachfront veranda at Waikiki’s historic first hotel is fit for a First Lady.

Gentlemen and ladies from near and far found the perfect respite from the afternoon sun in the comfort of the hotel’s cozy lounge chairs, cooled by Hawaii’s gentle ocean breezes.

They sipped tea, refreshing their mind, body and spirit, as they observed bathers on Waikiki beach or immersed in conversation with friends and family while hostesses presented freshly brewed pots of teas along with light repasts of savories and pastries.

Today, the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa continues this elegant tradition with its signature Afternoon Tea Service serving a variety of fine teas, accompanied by an assortment of delectable signature items varying from salads, finger sandwiches, scones and delicate pastries.

The setting is spectacular, oceanfront next to the beautiful and historic Banyan Tree.

It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a time of relaxation and good conversation all while enjoying a good cup of tea and delectable sweets and savories.

Service begins with the offering of several tea selections and it continues with sweet treats and scones and savories served on a three tiered stand.

For an extra special treat, First Lady Tea service includes Classic Tea offerings plus a glass of sparkling rosé, berries with crème fraîche and souvenir fan.

The Veranda will celebrate Mother’s Day every day during the month of May with a new tea menu that starts on May 1st.

Reservations can be made by calling the Dining Desk at 808-921-4600.
