The 8th Annual Honolulu African-American Film Festival features 8 days of original films and shorts at Doris Duke Theatre from February 16-24.

The showcase is a celebration of Black History Month and this year, works include the buzzed about movie If Beale Street Could Talk.

Accolades include a win for Best Supporting Actress by Regina King at the 76th Golden Globe Awards.

The opening night reception for the Festival and screening of Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool is sold out, but there are many other films playing for the 8-day event.

There will also be screenings of Oscar Nominated Shorts, Documentaries and Live Action. 

The event is family friendly and tickets cost $12 for General Admission, $10 for Honolulu Museum of Art Members.
