Retired Honolulu Police Chief Lee D. Donohue has been elected president of the board of directors of CrimeStoppers Honolulu. Donohue is the director of security at Securitas.

As president, Chief Donohue will oversee the 501©3 non-profit corporation’s annual fundraiser on the evening of Friday, April 5 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at Honolulu Country Club. The dinner event – themed “Support Our Student Superheroes” – will focus attention on the organization’s Student CrimeStoppers initiative, which aims to improve the safety of the schools in our community by preventing crime.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by Oldies and Goodies during dinner, with A Touch of Gold inspiring dancers to hit the floor to close the event. Dozens of items will be offered by silent auction. Honolulu CrimeStoppers Coordinator Sgt. Chris Kim and comedian Kaleo Pilanca will serve as the evening’s emcees.

Table sponsorships are available starting at $2,500. Individual tickets are $100 per person. The non-profit CrimeStoppers Honolulu is not funded by taxes, but instead through the generosity of private individuals, grant-making organizations and local businesses. Donations are all tax-deductible.
