Christopher Raymond Helmlinger has been indicted on manslaughter and negligent homicide charges, after an accident last month that killed Hawaii Island Fire Department Capt. David Mahon.
Helmlinger posted $100,000 bail after the deadly Mamalahoa Highway crash.
Police said that Helmlinger overtook several vehicles in a no-passing zone and crashed head-on into Mahon, who was riding a motorcycle.
