Police: Three overnight armed robberies in Seattle likely connected

SEATTLE — Seattle police say three armed robberies that happened at convenience stores overnight were likely committed by the same suspects.

Two happened in North Seattle and one in South Seattle.

The first robbery happened at 3:20 a.m. Friday at a store in the 5700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.

Police say three suspects went into the store. One was armed with a handgun. The robbers demanded cash from the clerk and then fled.

While officers were investigating, a second armed robbery involving three suspects, one armed with a handgun, robbed a store in the 12300 block of 15th Avenue NE, just before 5 a.m.

As detectives were processing evidence at the second robbery, a third robbery with similar suspect descriptions was reported at a Shell gas station mini mart in the 200 block of NE 45th Street.

KIRO 7 obtained surveillance video from the Shell station that shows a man with a bandana over his face walk in. Shortly after, he points a gun at the clerk.  A second man enters the store, while a third person appears to be waiting outside the door.

The store clerk puts his arms up, then hands over handfuls of cash to the men. Their faces can not be seen. Watch the surveillance video in the window below.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies.
