A 66-year-old Boise man has been charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a female juvenile –- and police fear there could be additional victims.

Boise Police officers responded to help Health and Welfare personnel on Friday who were investigating reports of lewd conduct between a man and a juvenile female under the age of sixteen.

Detectives with the BPD Special Victims Unit who joined the investigation say they found evidence indicating the man –- later identified as 66-year-old James Williams -- was involved in inappropriate sexual contact with the teenaged victim within the last few months.

Williams and the victim know each other, investigators said.

“Officers made contact with the suspect on Friday evening and, upon further investigation, placed him under arrest,” according to a BPD news release.

Williams was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of lewd conduct with a child under sixteen.

Williams bail has been set at $250,000, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s website.

“The investigation is ongoing and officers are concerned there may be other victims that Williams was in contact with,” the release added.

If anyone has any information regarding Williams, they are asked to call non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677), www.343COPS.com, or leave a tip using the “P3 Tips” app for your mobile device.
