Juvenile girl hit by truck in downtown Colorado Springs

Police in Colorado Springs were investigating a serious crash Friday night involving a pedestrian.

The Duty Lieutenant sent out an alert to the public at about 6:25 p.m. stating Platte Avenue between Wahsatch and Weber was closed in both directions. The area is on the east side of downtown.

An officer on scene is reporting a juvenile was crossing the street when she was hit by a pickup truck. The age of the juvenile was not available. The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver stayed on scene. It isn't clear if anyone will face charges in the incident.

The street was back open at about 7 p.m.
