Suspect opens fire at New Hampshire wedding, is tackled by guests

Two people were shot when a person opened fire at a wedding in a New England church Saturday morning. No one was killed.

The shooting was reported at New England Pentecostal Church in Pelham, New Hampshire around 10:15 a.m. EST. The call said a man came inside the church and shot the bishop, according to CBS Boston.

Police say the suspect is 37-year-old Dale Holloway. Authorities reported that he was arrested at the scene after guests tackled the shooter and held him until law enforcement arrived.

Pelham Police Chief Joseph Roark said, "there was a struggle ensued, minor injuries occurred to the other guests who were in struggle with the shooter."

75-year-old Bishop Stanley Choate sustained an injury from a gunshot wound to the upper chest. He is receiving treatment at Tufts Medical Center but is in serious condition, according to Senior Assistant Attorney General Benjamin Agati.

Two other injuries were reported. Claire McMullen, 60, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and is being treated at a local hospital. Mark Castiglione, 60, was hit in the head by an object. He was treated at a hospital and was later released.

Agati said McMullen and Castiglione were the bride and the groom at the wedding.

Police do not believe this was a random incident, but would not yet confirm if the gunman knew the victims.

The church was also to be the site of celebration of life service two hours later, which was canceled due to the shooting. The service was in honor of a minister at the church who was shot and killed in his home Oct. 2.

According to CBS Boston, Holloway is expected to be arraigned on Oct. 15. This is still considered an ongoing investigation.

Pelham is about 40 miles north of Boston.
