Lincoln Weather Update: Friday, June 5

Another night, another round of severe weather. Strong storms with damaging winds and hail blasted through the southeast overnight. However, much quieter, hot and steamy weather is in store as we head into the weekend.

Clouds will clear away by mid-morning with sunny skies staying dominant once again. Highs climb back into the lower 90s with dewpoints in the mid to upper 60s, meaning it’ll be another humid day! Tonight will be much more quiet, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures only falling around 70.

The hot and humid weather hang around through the weekend, but the wind will also be picking up. Southerly breeze will help keep things pretty sticky both Saturday and Sunday. Highs ranging from the low to middle 90s! Just remember, if you’re going to be out for long periods of time don’t forget to hydrate and wear sunscreen and try to refrain on taking dogs on long walks until it cools down.

Relief comes around next week as temperatures tumble near average for the majority of the week. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s with a few shower and storm chances.
