MISSOURI POLICE ARE WORKING TO FIND HIS KILLER. KMBC 9’S MARTIN AUGUSTINE IS LIVE THIS MORNING IN NORTHEAST K.C. WITH THE LATEST FROM OFFICERS. MARTIN? MARTIN: GUNFIRE ROCKING SHORTLY AFTER NEIGHBORHOOD. POLICE TELL US SEVERAL 911 CALLS CAME IN REPORTING THAT GUNFIRE. SOME OF THOSE COLORS EVEN TOLD POLICE WHERE THEY COULD FIND THE VICTIM, A MAN FOUND BEHIND A HOME IN THE 400 BLOCK OF DENVER POLICE -- DENVER. POLICE SAY HE WAS SHOT MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY RUSHED HIM TO A HOSPITAL, BUT NOT LONG AFTER HIS ARRIVAL THERE, HE DIED. FOR AS MANY CALLS AS POLICE RECEIVED ABOUT THE GUNFIRE, THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND PEOPLE WITH MORE CONCRETE INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. THAT IS CRITICAL IN THESE INVESTIGATIONS, ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST FEW HOURS, TO FIND SOMETHING THAT SOMEBODY RUNNING AWAY. Kansas City, Missouri police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning.Police said multiple people called 911 after hearing gunshots in the 400 block of Denver Avenue 20 minutes after midnight.Officers said a man was shot multiple times and found behind a home.Medics took that man to the hospital where he was pronounced deadPolice are asking anyone who may have seen anything to call the Homicide Unit directly at 816 234-5043 or the TIPS hotline anonymously at 474-TIPS.
