A tasty barbecue dinner was served up in the North Platte High School parking lot Friday night and the foods were being judged by a panel of four judges.

It was part of the 11th Annual Bulldog Backyard BBQ and Tailgate Party. It cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and children. The money will benefit The North Platte Public Schools Foundation.

The food was judged and a winner was chose in each category of: best pork, best beef, best chicken, best dessert and an "Anything Goes" category.

Vice President of The North Platte Public Schools Foundation, Lance Carlson, said they keep doing it year after year because of the success they have seen.

"I think it's great for school pride and community pride where everybody comes together and gets to rub shoulders a little bit and have some good food before a football game," said Carlson.

The winners of the best chicken was given to First National Bank, best pork was the North Platte Ambassadors, best dessert was Equitable Bank and best beef was Adams Bank and Trust and the "Anything Goes Award" was given to Bethel Church and North Platte Ministries.

The barbecue was held before the North Platte High School home football game against Lincoln High.
