The Nebraska Tourism Conference had another successful day in North Platte on Wednesday.

The attendees were treated to a keynote session featuring President and CEO of Brand USA Chris Thompson.

Brand USA specializes in attracting people from around the world to the United State.

They also work with certain states to encourage foreigners to visit them.

Nebraska Tourism Executive Director John Ricks said they've learned a lot since working with Chris Thompson.

'It's huge business and frankly we just have to start putting together a plan and designing a plan to go invite some of those people to come to Nebraska and spend their money here," said Ricks.

"We're dipping our toe in the water internationally to see what we can actually come up with because it's big business."

Ricks said each international traveler spends thousands.

"The Chinese spend $7,000-8,000 a person a visit so we have to start getting our share of that- so that's what we're up to. We're trying to find out the countries that provide us inbound travelers."

Wednesday night the conference has the Celebrate Nebraska Awards Banquet.

Thursday they will have a coffee and donuts send-off to end the conference.
