There's lots of excitement happening at the Mid-Plains Community College South Campus this week. This excitement comes in the form of art.

The North Platte Kids Klub in conjunction with the college are having a long awaited fine arts camp.

Carrie Lienemann said they've been organizing and planning this event for two years.

A grant supported by the Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment have made the camp possible.

Lienemann said the kids have been ecstatic about this weeks events.

"We have kids begging, 'Don't take me out early. I don't want to go on vacation yet. I want to stay for this camp.' So, that's been fun to see the kids excited to get here everyday," she said.

The camp with conclude on Friday with a recital for the families of the children at the McDonald-Belton Theater at Mid-Plains Community College.
